What is the Remnant?

 
Remnant believers choose to be chosen. They believe God has a destiny and a purpose for every human being. Remnant believers want to leave a legacy and realize that by doing their part in God's Kingdom, they have the potential to change nations for God's glory. God's chosen people are called out to be light, to be salt, to be an example, and to be available for such a time as this.
 
 
 
Romans 11:5
"Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace."
 

 

GOD'S REMNANT - DEFINED

1. An unchangeable commitment to cling to the Lord. Every remnant believer has made a single-minded choice to swim against the tide of evil. At some point, you have to make a commitment, declaring, "I don't care what others say or do. I am the Lord's. And I won't give in to the wicked spirit of this age."
 

 

2. A willingness to identify with the poor. While society's trend is to associate with the rich and successful, you align yourself with the suffering class. Obadiah was a godly man serving in Jezebel's house. He was determined to fear God and no one else and he proved that his heart was right and was with the poor by taking care of 100 ragged, suffering prophets (1 Kings 18:4).
 

 

3. A reliance on hope. The 7000 in Elijah's time endured because of their hope in a coming day of deliverance. Likewise today, the church's blessed hope is the soon return of Jesus. With one trumpet blast, all wickedness will end. Our Lord will do away with all killing of babies, all blatant perversions, all ethnic genocide.

Do these three marks characterize you as a part of God's holy remnant?
 
If so, God boasts of you, "This one has given his heart to me. He's focused on me. And he is wholly mine!"

 

 

Zephaniah 3:13
"The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies;neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid."

 
 

 

 
RIGHTEOUS & HOLY
 
In order to become a fearless warrior for Christ, we must keep our conscious clean. The remnant believer has a deep desire to walk in righteousness. They are not those who continue to dabble in known sins, whether hidden or exposed, because they yearn for God's presence daily. In aiming to live out a life of obedience through repentance, the remnant believer has a humble confidence in God that is like none other. Their life is a sweet fragrance to the Lord and a beautiful light in a dark world.

 

 

 

Zechariah 8:12

 

"For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things."

 

 

THE BENEFITS OF YOUR SALVATION

 

The word salvation means: Something Saved; Deliverance; Health; Help; Save; Saved; Salvation; Welfare; Aid; Victory; Prosperity; To Be Free; To Be Safe; Preserve; Rescue; Defend; Liberty.
 
 
To the remnant believer, the word SALVATION means more than a ticket to heaven. They are sure that their salvation comes with many benefits (Psalm 103:2), both in this life and the life to come (Luke 18:30).
 
 
Remnant believers cling to God's Word, refusing to bow down to religious dogma that waters down God's promises. They believe God's Word is a NOW message, because He cares for us NOW and through ALL ETERNITY.
 
 
A remnant believer is continually free-falling into the LOVE OF GOD through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.
 

 

 

 

Jeremiah 23:3

 

"And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase."
